About This Work

Andy Warhol’s *Details of Renaissance Paintin* revisits the canon with Pop’s cool intensity, extracting a fragment of Old Master imagery and re-presenting it through the mechanics of modern reproduction. Visually, the work oscillates between reverence and disruption: the familiar becomes newly graphic, at once historical and media-saturated.

Significant within Warhol’s practice, it sharpens his lifelong inquiry into authorship, aura, and the afterlife of images in a mass-mediated world.
