In *Jul Sketches Series V*, Alex distils the immediacy of drawing into a poised contemporary statement, where rapid notation and deliberate restraint sit in productive tension. Working with a sketch-led methodology, the artist privileges line, rhythm and negative space, allowing incidental marks to remain visible as evidence of process.
The result reads as both intimate and architectural: a study of perception in real time. The “Jul” framing subtly evokes seasonal memory and everyday observation, anchoring the work in a shared cultural register while resisting illustration.
As part of an ongoing series, this piece extends Alex’s enquiry into the sketch as finished artwork—an approach aligned with current discourse around material honesty, authorship and the value of the provisional.
‘’ Art ’’ will be solely and exclusively synonymous with ‘’ suffered alteration ’’, in the same way that it will be understood as a trivial element, practically insignificant in the environment.
The terms ‘’ sensitive field ’’ and ‘’ emotional field ’’ of being will be consolidated as the only factors pertaining to reality. Denying, without exception, any other. We will expand those fields in order to enhance the evolution that we were never able to achieve. Only by putting its expansion to the test, will we be able to know the fragility of our limits.
